About our Fellowship Program 2026

Build the models. Deploy them at scale.

BioTuring is an innovative bioinformatics company that develops algorithms and agentic AI software to serve scientists from hundreds of pharmaceutical companies and leading research institutions, enabling discoveries about human diseases.

At BioTuring, we host, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy open-source LLMs on infrastructure we’ve built ourselves. This 3-month fellowship puts you at the heart of that platform — you’ll contribute to the platform itself while applying it to develop and deploy AI systems for real-world life science applications. You can be based at our Ho Chi Minh City office (Thao Dien), or VIASM in Hanoi; remote within Vietnam is also possible — though onsite is where you’ll grow fastest alongside our AI and research teams.

What awaits you at the Fellowship Program?

  • Competitive monthly allowance — VND 11,000,000 gross for a full-time commitment (40 hours/week).
  • Generous research funding — approximately USD 15,000 per month for computing resources, plus coverage of other research expenses.
  • 1:1 mentorship — direct guidance from BioTuring’s senior researchers and engineers.
  • Fast-track to B-GENS 2027 — top fellows enter the program at VND 18,000,000 gross per month for the first five months, with upward adjustments based on performance and contributions.
  • Global, high-ownership environment — a supportive workplace where you can learn fast and accelerate your career in bioinformatics and AI for science.

What will you build?

  • Build and develop LLM modules, harness – take real ownership of how foundation models are deployed across GPU clusters and scaled for production.
  • Design and test LLM modules for biology/bioinformatics workflows — your work ships, your benchmarks matter, and you drive improvements end-to-end.
  • Own performance optimization: profile, benchmark, and debug — make our inference workflows measurably faster and more efficient.
  • Collaborate directly with research and engineering teams — contribute clean APIs, testing frameworks, and infrastructure that accelerates our AI products.

Are you our ideal candidate?

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Strong Python & ML/DL skills (PyTorch, Hugging Face, or similar)
  • Understanding of LLM serving and inference — deployment, APIs, latency/memory optimization (vLLM/TGI is a plus).
  • Independent profiling, benchmarking, and debugging skills — self-driven projects or production contributions.
  • Interest in biology/bioinformatics and AI for science
  • Ownership mindset — you thrive in ambiguity and ship fast

How will you join us?

  • Application submission deadline: 11:59 PM Monday, October 26, 2026
  • Application form: link
  • The BioTuring Test
  • Interview: Technical & Cultural Fit Interview.
  • Offer & Onboarding: November 2026

What is your journey?

  • Fellowship (3 months): Build with production-grade LLM infrastructure, own real features from day one, and ship systems used in actual life science research.
  • Fast-track to B-GENS 2027: Top fellows skip the queue — starting salary of VND 18 Million Gross for the next 5 months.
  • Beyond: Your salary and responsibilities scale with your performance and contribution — the bar you raise becomes your new baseline.
