Systems Infrastructure Engineer—Linux, Cloud & Platform

Role Description

In this critical role, you’ll play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the robust systems and infrastructure that powers our data intensive bioinformatics platform. 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop tools and scripts to automate operations, infrastructure tasks, and client deployments using Infrastructure as Code mindset.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve reliability across Linux, VM and containers.
• Support, troubleshoot, and manage OpenStack-based private cloud infrastructure.
• Operate external storage (NAS/SAN) and high performance networking such as Ceph.
• Employ security best practices for securing and hardening system services.
• Implement network topology, redundancy and high availability for production systems.
• Provision hardware and infrastructure following the company’s evolution.
• Support and diagnose bare-metal server and networking issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience of at least 3 years in the related fields.
• Advanced Linux administration, libvirt virtualisation and container runtimes such as Podman (certified with CompTIA Linux+ or LPIC is a plus).
• Strong Ansible or Terraform skills for Linux and Cloud system automation (Bash scripting and familiarity with Python is also a plus).
• Comfortable debugging complex issues across multiple layers.
• Hands-on experience with containers and VM in production.
• Solid understanding of networking and storage fundamentals (OVN / Open vSwitch, Overlay networks, NAT, ZFS filesystem and RAID configuration).
• Solid understanding of hardware standards such as PCI, SATA, SAS.
