Role Description<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In this critical role, you’ll play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the robust backend infrastructure that powers our data intensive bioinformatics platform. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Design, develop, and maintain back-end for data intensive applications (PB).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval mechanisms for high-performance computing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Implement efficient data structures for high-speed search and processing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Work with columnar, chunked, and distributed data formats (e.g. HDF5, Zarr, Parquet).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Handle streaming and batch processing models, as well as parallel and distributed computation (multithreading, multiprocessing, GPU where applicable).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Optimize CPU, memory, disk I\/O, and network usage for massive workloads.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Profile, benchmark, and debug performance bottlenecks at system level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software architecture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Proficiency in SQL\/NoSQL and protocols like TCP, UDP, and HTTP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Solid understanding of OS basics and experience in Rust, Go, C\/C++, Java, or C#.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Experience building high-performance backend systems for large datasets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and a passion for building from scratch.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
