We are currently using Alpha SC on a 12M single-cell dataset as our main analysis toolbox, and we are happy with the performance so far. It vastly reduced our analysis time. Most steps can now be completed in few minutes instead of hours. Compared to other GPU-based solutions, a crucial benefit for us in using Alpha SC is the possibility of easily working in ‘backed’ mode, thus processing million-scale datasets using a reasonable amount of system memory. The highly efficient use of GPU memory is also a huge advantage since we can run the workflow without the need for large-memory expensive GPUs.
